About Preflair
What is Preflair?
A planning tool for life situations. You pick a module (hosting weekend guests, moving home, going through divorce, planning a trip), answer a few questions, and get a structured checklist with phases, tasks, and timing. Print it, share it as a PDF, work through it on your phone. Made for the real moments where you need a plan, not a chatbot.
Who is it for?
People who want to be prepared without becoming generic AI copy-pasters. Anyone planning something where forgetting one thing creates real consequences.
Is it free?
The website (preflair.com) is free. Browse modules, build checklists, export PDFs. The mobile app, when it launches, will be paid (lifetime, one-time purchase, no subscription).
Why a mobile app if the website is free?
The website is the sampler. The app is the full catalog, syncs across your devices, works offline, and gives you everything Preflair publishes after your purchase — at the price you paid. See "What does 'lifetime' actually mean?" for the full picture.
Privacy and data
What data do you collect about me?
On the website (preflair.com): nothing personal. Your events and answers stay in your browser. If you submit feedback via the contact form, we receive your message and email, used only to respond.
In the mobile app (when it launches): an opaque identifier from Apple or Google so you can access what you paid for. Nothing else. No name, no email, no payment info.
Will you send me marketing emails?
No. Preflair does not have your email address (except if you submit it via the contact form, which is used only to reply to you). No newsletter. No promotions. No "your subscription is renewing" messages — there are no subscriptions.
Do you track me?
No. No Google Analytics. No advertising pixels. No tracking cookies. Cloudflare provides anonymized request logs for hosting purposes only.
Can you read my events and tasks?
On the website: your data is in your browser. We never see it.
In the mobile app: your data is encrypted on your device before syncing to our server. We store encrypted blobs we cannot decrypt. Only your devices, signed in to your Apple or Google account, can read your data.
Buying and accessing the app
How do I sign in?
With Sign in with Apple (iOS, Mac) or Sign in with Google (Android). No passwords to remember, no email to give us, no signup form.
What if I lose access to my Apple ID or Google account?
You will also lose access to your Preflair purchase. We have no other identifier for you, and no way to recover your account.
This is the honest trade-off for the privacy posture: we cannot help you recover what we never had. If recoverable digital purchases matter to you, you may prefer apps that collect your email.
What if I switch from iPhone to Android (or vice versa)?
Your Preflair purchase does not transfer. You would need to buy again on the new platform, at whatever the current price is. This is how all Apple and Google app store purchases work — it is not specific to Preflair.
How much does the app cost?
At launch, €19.99 for the first 500 founder customers. After the first 500, the price increases for new customers — the new price will be set and announced publicly at that time. Prices may continue to rise in steps as the product grows. Customers are never asked to pay again or upgrade. Access depends on you keeping your Apple ID or Google account — see "What if I lose access to my Apple ID or Google account?" below. There are no subscriptions.
What does "lifetime" actually mean?
Lifetime means: as long as Preflair exists and we operate it, your purchase covers every module we ever publish, with no additional fees and no subscription.
Honestly: Preflair is currently run by a solo developer. Like any small indie app, there is some risk it eventually shuts down — through illness, life changes, or a decision to stop. We cannot promise the product will be here unchanged in 20 years. We will be honest well in advance if a significant change becomes likely.
What we have set up for continuity:
- The static website is pre-funded for many years. Even if active development stops, preflair.com will keep serving the existing modules and let you build and export checklists.
- The curated content has an escape valve. The modules and library data are set up to be released publicly if the operator becomes unavailable for an extended period. Your curated checklists do not become trapped if something happens to us.
- Succession plan exists. If Preflair becomes meaningful, the operator has children who may continue running it. They would inherit the codebase, domain, and app store accounts.
What we cannot guarantee: that a future operator (whether the original founder's family, a buyer, or someone else) would honor the same lifetime business model. That decision would belong to whoever takes over. What we can promise: while the original operator runs Preflair, the terms you bought under do not change.
If Preflair did shut down entirely (worst case): you would keep the data on your device (including PDF exports of your events). New modules and cross-device sync would stop. There is no automatic refund mechanism after the App Store / Google Play refund windows close. The static website would continue serving existing modules for the pre-funded period.
If long-term durability is critical, you may prefer apps backed by large companies. We think the trade-off — privacy, no subscriptions, lifetime pricing, with an honest continuity plan — is worth this risk for many users.
Can I share my purchase with my family?
No. One user, one purchase. No family plans, no team plans. If your partner wants Preflair, your partner buys their own at current price.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, through Apple or Google. They handle refunds for app store purchases. Request through the App Store or Google Play; they will process it. Preflair receives notification and your access is revoked on your next sync.
Using Preflair
Do I need an account to use the free website?
No. Just open preflair.com and start. Your events stay in your browser.
What happens if I clear my browser data?
Your events will be lost. The free website intentionally stores nothing on our servers, so we cannot restore them. The mobile app, with sync, will solve this.
Can I share an event with another person?
Yes. Two ways:
Role-filtered PDF export. Each task in Preflair can be assigned to a role (Me, Partner, Family, Lawyer, etc.). You can export a PDF filtered to show only the tasks for a specific role and send it to whoever needs it. They open the PDF — they don't need a Preflair account, they don't pay anything.
Read-only share link (planned for Phase 2 mobile app). Generates a link your partner, family member, or friend can open in their browser to see your current checklist. Read-only — they cannot edit it. The recipient does not need a Preflair account.
Real-time collaborative editing (you both check off tasks and see each other's changes live) is not planned. Preflair is built around one user owning the planning space.
Why is my favorite module not on the free site?
We rotate which modules are shown on the free website. Modules she has finished but rotated out are still available in the mobile app for paying users. The free site is a sampler, not the full catalog.
Can I suggest a module?
Yes. There is a "Request a module" link on the website, or email preflair@preflair.com. We read everything.
Why don't you use AI to generate modules?
Because every existing module has been read, edited, and signed off personally by us. AI-generated checklists tend to be generic and miss the things only humans planning real life situations would catch. Preflair is curated, not generated.

What information should I include if I need help with my purchase?
Because we do not store your name or email, please tell us:
- The Apple ID or Google account email you signed in with
- Approximate date of purchase
- What is going wrong
We will do our best to help. We may not be able to recover certain situations (lost Apple ID, etc.), and we will be honest with you when that is the case.
Is Preflair available in languages other than English?
Not yet. English first. Polish, then other European languages, are planned.
Is the app accessible (screen readers, etc.)?
Yes. Preflair is built to WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards, including keyboard navigation, screen reader support, sufficient color contrast, and large touch targets. If you find an accessibility issue, please email preflair@preflair.com.
Technical
What platforms is Preflair on?
Website: any modern browser. Mobile app (when launched): iOS and Android. Tablets supported via responsive layouts.
Does it work offline?
Website: most features work offline once loaded. Mobile app: designed to work fully offline. Sync happens when you have a connection.
What if Preflair shuts down?
You can export your events as PDF before shutdown to keep your data. Refunds for recent purchases would be handled per Apple/Google policy. We hope this is never relevant.
